In some flat roof projects, due to the need to consider the shadow
of the parapet or obstacles, as well as snow load and other
factors, cement base will be used as the foundation to build the
solar mounting system on the flat roof in reference to the style of
the ground structure.
The material selection of the structure is mainly divided into
aluminum and steel. In China, considering the cost, most customers
will choose steel structure. But for some projects which are close
to smokestacks emitting acid gases, then customers will choose
aluminum structure. Generally speaking, the later maintenance of
aluminum structure will be easier than that of steel structure.
Most concrete roofs have a certain inclination angle, generally 2
degree and no more than 5 degree, so the mounting system of the
concrete roof will need to be adjustable, so that it can be
adjusted according to the actual situation of the roof during
on-site construction.
In addition, when calculating the size and weight of the cement
foundation, also must consider the bearing capacity of the roof.
The unit weight and total weight of the cement foundation shall not
exceed the allowable value of the roof. If the bearing capacity of
the roof is not large enough, it is necessary to consider other
design or reduce the installed capacity of the project.
